How to delete Rows from Excel worksheet
Sometimes Excel worksheet data may contain Rows which you want to delete. The Rows which you want to delete may be wrong, duplicate or irrelevant.
In an Excel Worksheet, there are total 1048576 rows available. When you delete Rows from Excel worksheet, the total available number of Rows in Excel worksheet do not change. New blank Rows (equivalent to the deleted number of Rows) will be inserted at extreme bottom of the worksheet to maintain the total number of Rows the same.
To delete Rows from Excel worksheet, follow any of below methods.
Method 1 - How to delete a single Row from Excel worksheet
Step 1 - Select the Row which you want to delete by clicking on its Row number. After selecting the Row number, right-click anywhere on the Row and select "Delete" from the context menu. In this example I had selected 8th Row, by clicking on its Row number.
Another way to achieve the same result is by running "Delete Sheet Rows" command from Excel Ribbon > "Cells" Group > "Delete" menu button as shown below.
Step 2 - Entire 8th Row is deleted from Excel worksheet. The Row under deleted Row is moved up by one Row to occupy the position of deleted Row. All Rows under the deleted Row are moved up by one Row, as shown in below image.

If you want to delete large number of Rows from an Excel worksheet, it is not an efficient method to delete single Row one by one. If you want to delete large number of Rows, follow any of below methods.
Method 2 - How to delete multiple contiguous Rows from Excel worksheet
To delete multiple contiguous Rows from Excel worksheet, follow these steps.
Step 1 - Select the Rows you want to delete from Excel worksheet by clicking, dragging and releasing mouse pointer on its Row numbers. In this example, I want to delete 5th Row and 6th Row from Excel worksheet. Hence, I had selected 5th Row and 6th Row.
After selecting the Rows, right-click on any of the selected Rows and select "Delete" from context menu, as shown in below image.
Step 2 -Two contiguous Rows are deleted from Excel worksheet. Rows under deleted Rows are moved up to occupy the position of deleted Rows. All Rows under the two deleted Rows are moved up by two Rows, as shown in below image.

Method 3 - How to delete multiple noncontiguous Rows from Excel worksheet
To delete multiple noncontiguous Rows from Excel worksheet, follow these steps.
Step 1 - Select the noncontiguous Rows you want to delete by pressing & holding "Ctrl" key and then clicking on its Row numbers. In this example, I want to delete two noncontiguous Rows, 5th Row and 8th Row, from Excel worksheet. Hence, I had selected 5th Row and 8th Row.
After selecting multiple noncontiguous Rows you want to delete, right-click on any of the selected Rows and select "Delete" from context menu as shown in below image.
Step 2 - 5th Row and 8th Row are deleted from Excel worksheet. The Rows below 5th Row and 8th Row are moved up to replace 5th Row and 8th Row, as shown in below image.
