How to customize Excel Quick Access Toolbar (QAT)
An Excel user can customize Quick Access Toolbar (QAT) in a way which is convenient to his style of work.
Excel Quick Access Toolbar (QAT) can be customized to include below items.
• Commands which are used more frequently
• Commands which are not found on Excel Ribbon
• Macros
To customize Excel Quick Access Toolbar (QAT), click the "Customize Quick Access Toolbar" drop-down button, as shown in below image.

Drop-down menu contains following commands. You may click any menu item to add or remove the command from Excel Quick Access Toolbar (QAT).
• New : To open a new Excel workbook
• Open : To display the Open dialog box
• Save : To Save the changes made on workbook
• Email : To open mail
• Quick Print : To print current worksheet in default printer
• Print Preview and Print : To open Print Preview of the current worksheet
• Spelling : To check for spelling errors inside current worksheet
• Undo : To undo the last change made in worksheet
• Redo : To redo the last change made in worksheet
• Sort Ascending: To sort selection in ascending order
• Sort Descending: To sort selection in descending order
• Touch/Mouse Mode : To toggle between touch mode and mouse mode
• More Commands : To display "Excel Options" window's quick access toolbar panel selected. More commands are available here to add to Excel Quick Access Toolbar (QAT). "Excel Options" window's quick access toolbar panel is explained in detail below.
• Show Below the Ribbon : To change the location of Excel Quick Access Toolbar (QAT) below the Ribbon
"More Commands"
To display "Excel Options" window's Quick Access Toolbar panel, click the "More Commands" menu from "Customize Quick Access Toolbar" button drop-down menu.
"Excel Options" window can be opened by following methods also.
• Click the "File" tab in Excel Ribbon and then click "Options". Select "Quick Access Toolbar" Panel.
Or
• Right-click anywhere on the Ribbon. Click "Customize Quick Access Toolbar".

How to add a command to Excel Quick Access Toolbar (QAT)
To add a command to Excel Quick Access Toolbar (QAT), select the command from left side list and then click "Add" to add it to right side list.

For example;
To add "Format Cells" command to Excel Quick Access Toolbar (QAT), select "Format Cells" from left side list and then click "Add" button, as shown below. Click "OK".

You can see the "Format Cells" Command is added to Excel Quick Access Toolbar (QAT), as shown in below image.

How to find the command to add to Excel Quick Access Toolbar (QAT)
If you have any difficulty in finding the command you are looking for, you may narrow your search using "Choose your command" menu. Commands are grouped together in different categories like "Popular Commands", Commands Not in the Ribbon", All Commands", "Macros", Commands from different Tabs in Ribbon etc.

How to remove a command from Excel Quick Access Toolbar (QAT)
To remove a command from Excel Quick Access Toolbar (QAT), select the command from the right side list and then click "Remove".
