How to change the position of Command button in Excel Ribbon's Group
We have four command buttons in Excel Ribbon's custom Group "OmniSecuGroup". They are "Format Painter", "Fill Color", "Format Cells" and "Increase Font Size", as shown in below image.
If you want to change the position of command buttons inside Excel Ribbon's Group, follow these steps.
Step 1 - Right-click anywhere on Excel Ribbon and then select "Customize the Ribbon", as shown in below image.
Tip
"Excel Options" window to customize Excel Ribbon can be opened by following methods also.
• Click the "File" tab in Excel Ribbon and then click "Options". Select "Customize Ribbon" Panel.
Or
• Right-click anywhere on the "Quick Access Toolbar" (except on "Customize Quick Access Toolbar" drop-down button). Click "Customize Ribbon".
"Excel Options" window is opened and its "Customize Ribbon" Panel is displayed as shown in below image. Excel Ribbon's custom Tab "OmniSecuTab (Custom)", and Group "OmniSecuGroup (Custom)" the comnmands inside "OmniSecuGroup (Custom)" are marked on the right-side list.
The commands inside custom Group "OmniSecuGroup (Custom)" are "Format Painter", "Fill Color", "Format Cells" and "Increase Font Size", as shown in below image.
Step 2 - The top-most command inside in right-side list corresponds to the left-most command in actual Excel Ribbon's Group. Refer below image.
Moving a Command up in the right-side list will result in moving the Command to left in actual Excel Ribbon. Moving a Command Down in the right-side list will result in moving the Command to right in actual Excel Ribbon's Group.
To change the position of a Command in Excel Ribbon's Group, select the Command in right-side list. After selecting the Command in right-side list, click "Move Down" or "Move Up" (according to your requirement) Arrow to change its position.
For example;
If you need to change the position of Command "Fill Color" to the first position inside its parent Group, select "Fill Color" and use "Move Up" arrow to bring it to top, as shown in below example.
Position of the Command in right-side list changed to top inside its parent Group, as you can see from below image.
You can see from below image that the position of command "Fill Color" has changed to left inside actual Excel Ribbon's Group.
Similarly, you can change the position of a Command in Excel Ribbon's Group to the right side using "Move Down" arrow.
