Excel Backstage View
Excel Backstage View is the area in Excel program window where you can manipulate the properties of Excel file itself.
To open Excel Backstage View, click "File" Tab in Excel Ribbon, as shown in below image.

Excel Backstage view has a three-column structure as shown in above image. Left Column (marked "Column 1" in above image), has green color with many menu items. If you click a menu item in left Column (marked "Column 1" in above image), options related with the clicked menu will be displayed in other two Columns (except for a few menu items).
In Excel 2019, there are fourteen menu items in Column 1. Brief explanation of each menu item is given below.
"Info" menu in Excel Backstage View
"Info" menu in Excel Backstage View contains different information about the Excel file. "Info" menu has different options to protect the Excel file from changes by others. Four main options you can see from Column 2 are "Protect Workbook", "Inspect Workbook", "Manage Workbook", and "Browser View Options".

"New" menu in Excel Backstage View
"New" menu in Excel Backstage View contains options to create a new Excel file. You can create a blank Excel sheet or use one of many templates as the base of your new Excel file. There are many tutorials also available in "New" menu.

"Open" menu in Excel Backstage View
"Open" menu in Excel Backstage View allows you to open a file from your local hard disk or from cloud services. You can open an Excel file from a list of recently opened Excel Workbooks / folders, which are displayed in Column 3.

"Save" & "Save As" menu in Excel Backstage View
You can use "Save" & "Save As" menu to save an Excel file in the cloud or in your local hard disk. "Save" allows you to save the changes you had made on your Excel file. "Save As" allows to save your Excel file, with a different name at different location.

"Print" menu in Excel Backstage View
"Print" menu in Excel Backstage View allows you to arrange your file for printing. You can configure margins, scaling, orientation, size of the paper, the number of copies, the printer you want to use etc., from the "Print" menu in Excel Backstage View. You can preview the worksheet also here to see how the print will appear in paper after the file is printed.

"Share" menu in Excel Backstage View
"Share" menu in Excel Backstage View allows you to share your file using Microsoft OneDrive or Email.

"Export" menu in Excel Backstage View
"Export" menu in Excel Backstage View allows you to export a file in PDF or XPS format. You can also change Excel file type for the workbook using this menu.

"Publish" menu in Excel Backstage View
"Publish" menu in Excel Backstage View allows you to publish the file to Microsoft Power BI. You need to sign-in to do this.

"Close" menu in Excel Backstage View
"Close" menu in Excel Backstage View allows you to close the current worksheet. Note that only worksheet will be closed, when you click the "Close" menu. Excel program will not close and program will continue to run.
"Account" menu in Excel Backstage View
"Account" menu in Excel Backstage View allows you to locate information about your account. You can also configure updates and change the Excel program Theme here.

"Feedback" menu in Excel Backstage View
"Feedback" menu in Excel Backstage View can be used to send feedback about Excel program to Microsoft Excel development team.
"Options" menu in Excel Backstage View
"Options" menu in Excel Backstage View allows you to configure the features and options related with the Excel program. Unlike other menu items in Excel Backstage View, when clicked on "Options" menu, a separate window is opened. The title of new window is "Excel Options". In "Excel Options" window, you can configure different Excel features. Once configured, these features will not change until they are manually changed.
