Broadband over Power Line (IEEE 1901-2010 standard)
Broadband over Power Line or Powerline networking can transfer data through the common electrical wiring in your house. IEEE 1901-2010 standard is developed for Broadband over Power Line Networks
IEEE 1901-2010 standard was approved in 2010 December.
When installed properly, IEEE 1901 compliant networking products can provide a wired Internet connection to devices where Wi-Fi networks cannot reach. Broadband over Power Line can extend a wired internet connection without installing new cables. New cables are not required, because Broadband over Power Line transmit data signals along the electrical wires already in your home. Broadband over Power Line (IEEE 1901-2010 standard) is considered an alternative to Wi-Fi networks.
IEEE 1901-2010 standard compliant networking products can have bandwidths of 500 Mbps, over distances up to 1500 meters.
